(pssst)

hello you. this is going to be weird, but:

can you do me a favour and tell someone he/she is needed and loved today?
that they are beautifully created, and perfect in their own little way?

(okay, told you this was gonna be a-different-kind-of-post weird ha)

it could be anyone, online or in-person, and it takes a little courage on our part, but it could change someone's life and make someone's day a whole lot better. i just suddenly felt really convicted about this issue after hearing in the news about this girl who took her own life when she received a bad score report. and not just this, i've been hearing of all those many, many boys and girls who willingly chose to leave this world because they couldn't accept the way they were made, or had unkind words thrown at them, or thought no one loved or cared for them.

so yeah...this probably sounds really lame because i'm not the best at rallying people to do things, but won't it be lovely to impact someone for good? i know i struggle with approaching people with nothing more than "hey, i think you're awesome. stay cool, alrights?" but i guess there's always a first time for everything.

*deep breathe*

good grief, i can't even begin to explain how bad i am at this approaching people thing. and i don't know, maybe people will laugh or you'll stumble over words you meant to say (i know i will), and it won't be perfect.

but imperfection is what makes us human and lovable and real. the pain we feel at 2AM when we wake up with empty hearts, our tears behind the closed doors we shut against others, the joy that comes in the morning when we discover that He is always with us.

that's what makes us human. and let us start looking more at other human beings and going "i want to make a difference in their lives and i don't care what others are going to think." you know, the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate. just...shake it off ツ <3

So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
 -1 Corinthians 13:13-

i'm actually surprised i wrote so much about this and sorry about the mass of words i'm throwing out here heehee. so much love for you all <3

stay rad, fellow humans.
you are so loved today

  1. I love this idea, Elisabeth!! I'm terrible at stuff like this, haha, but I'm going to have to try it today. It's worth it! I have a friend who's SO good at this- she'll literally walk up to people at school and just say something like, "Hey. I think you're a pretty awesome person." or "You're beautiful, don't forget it!" And at first it kind of freaks people out, but I know it makes their day better:) I'll have to try to be more like her!

    Thank you for this idea:)

  5. So true. <3 Two days ago was national suicide prevention day, and I tried super hard to tell people to make someone feel loved, because I actually have actually lost several people to suicide; in fact, on the bird day of school, someone did commit suicide and it was horrible because a majority of the school knew who he is and never thought that it would come to it. But it did. And people need to know they they are truly loved, that it doesn't have to resort to this way of suicide. Thus, ";".

    xoxo Morning

    1. i saw this somewhere: suicide is not just wanting to die; it's also not putting any effort into living. your comment just reminded me about that quote. and i'm so, so sorry that you have lost dear ones to suicide. i have lost one, and although we weren't super close, it was still pretty impactful.

<3<3 thank you for taking the time to write your thoughts on this xxx

  9. This is such a neat idea. I struggle with getting the courage just to go up and initiate a conversation with even the people I know well. It's something I need to work on.

  11. Oh yeah...this. you are a brilliant genius, elisabeth ^_^ for me it's next to the scariest thing in the world for me to go up to someone and tell them "you're a fabulous person. stay strong." because what if (those two little doubting words) they have it all together and it's just me who's not and they think i'm crazy and WHAT IF. Well, what IF they needed that, because I know that more often than not, if someone would tell me that, I'd think they were the most fabulous human currently living.
    This is amazing. really amazing.

  14. Don't just tell someone that they're great, love them. I know of times when I've been discouraged and just wanted to give up. In those situations I did not believe it when people told me that I was a great person. Those comments did not help, but only made me feel angry. What I needed in those situations was love, prayer, a listening ear, a comforting embrace, a smile, support.

I'm glad though that you are trying to do something, this is just something for you to think about.

    1. <3 thank you for your thoughts, anon.

i think it's great that you voiced your opinions because i didn't really think of it from that perspective. yeah and in addition, loving them goes so much deeper than just telling them "hey, you're looking good today." well, haha, thanks for giving me some thoughts to chew on this evening (:

      xx
